Experience one of Broadway’s biggest theatrical traditions when the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction celebrates 40 joyous years on Sunday, September 27. 

This Sunday’s Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction has moved indoors to Hammerstein Ballroom due to the high winds and rain hitting in New York City as a nor’easter moves through.

All the magic of #BroadwayFlea will move to Hammerstein Ballroom, including more than 60 tables representing your favorite Broadway and Off-Broadway shows and theatrical organizations, the silent and live auctions and 50 special guests slated for the Autograph Table & Photo Booth. The decision was made with the safety and well-being of our attendees and volunteers as Broadway Cares’ top priority.

Proxy bidding is available for extraordinary items and unique in-person experiences. From handwritten musical phrases signed by theater luminaries to autographed props, and exclusive backstage meetings with beloved Broadway stars, there is something for everyone in the silent and live auctions. Doors open at 10 am for access to tables and the silent auction, with lots opening every half hour at the north end of the ballroom’s first floor. To accommodate doors opening at 10 am, the first two half-hours of lots will be combined for one full hour with final live-bidding starting at 10:40 am.

The live auction will take place in the Grand Ballroom on the seventh floor. Register to bid in advance all day in the main lobby. Live auction doors open at 4 pm. Please arrive by 4:40 pm. The live auction begins promptly at 5 pm.

Due to the last-minute nature of the Broadway Flea Market relocation, we had to place a handful of tables in the basement to fit all the participating shows and organizations. We recognize how important accessibility is to our community and sincerely regret the impact this will have on attendees. If you have any specific questions, please send a note to accessibility@broadwaycares.org and we’re happy to address them directly. The Autograph Table & Photo Booth and the live auction are accessible by elevator.

The shows set to host tables at this year’s event include & Juliet, Aladdin, Hadestown, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Just in Time, The Lion King, Little Shop of Horrors, The Lost Boys, Maybe Happy Ending, Oh, Mary!, Operation Mincemeat, The Outsiders, Schmigadoon!, Six, Stranger Things: The First Shadow, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) and Wicked. A special Curtain Call table will host unique mementos from shows that recently ended their runs, such as Death Becomes Her, Dog Day Afternoon and Titaníque.

In addition to the shows represented, the theatrical organizations with tables include the Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers (ATPAM), The Broadway League, the Dramatists Guild of America, the Entertainment Community Fund, Playbill, The Metropolitan Opera, The Shubert Organization and many more. 

What began with two tables outside the stage door of the original A Chorus Line in Shubert Alley has grown into one of Broadway’s most beloved traditions. Four decades later, the Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction brings together Broadway artists and fans to support a mission that has strengthened and united the industry for generations.

Last year’s Broadway Flea Market & Grand Auction raised a record $1,633,803. Since 1987, the 39 editions of the event have raised $21.8 million.
