Broadway Barks 3
Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore were hosts in Shubert Alley of BROADWAY BARKS III. Fifteen various animal shelters in NYC gathered and made available some of the “coolest canines and the most fabulous felines” for adoption.
“Our lives have been touched by animals we have adopted from rescues and shelters and we know the same can be true for you here today,” said Ms. Peters as a procession of dogs and cats cavorted across the stage set up between the Booth and Shubert Theatres. Gary Beach, Cady Huffman, Roger Bart and Brad Oscar from THE PRODUCERS, Mary Louise Parker / PROOF, Leslie Uggams and Brian Stokes Mitchell / KING HEDLEY III, Ben Vereen / FOSSE, Brooke Shields / CABARET and Christine Ebersole from 42nd STREET were just some of the actors who joined a crowd of over a thousand between shows on Saturday, June 14th Broadway Barks is produced by Broadway Cares in honor of our good friend Bernadette Peters who during just the run of her most recent Broadway show ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, lead the company in raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for BC/EFA.
