The 2020 performances of the Easter Bonnet Competition, scheduled for 4 pm on April 20 and 2:30 pm on April 21 at the Minskoff Theatre, are canceled.
It would be our fondest wish for these much-loved performances to occur on schedule. But even in the best of circumstances – and with the sincere interests of the theater community at heart – that is not possible.
We all remain rightly focused on the coronavirus pandemic. All of our energies at Broadway Cares are, for now, keenly aimed at raising as much money as possible through our COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund at broadwaycares.org/help2020.
Our theatrical family includes those on Broadway and off, and the national tours from coast to coast. Until they are back on their feet again, taking their rightful places onstage, backstage and behind the scenes, Broadway Cares’ commitment is to helping those in the theater community who are displaced, discouraged and disconnected. That help will be through our continued and essential support for The Actors Fund.
We look forward to us all coming together in April 2021 once again at the Minskoff Theater for what will be the 34th annual Easter Bonnet Competition.
In the meantime, please enjoy Tony Award winner Gavin Creel’s performance of David Friedman’s “Help is on the Way” from the 2015 edition of the Easter Bonnet Competition.
