Red Buckets in the hands of dedicated volunteers, actors and theater staffs are in theater lobbies in New York City and across the country with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ eagerly anticipated tradition of in-theater fundraising. The generosity of theater audiences and artists will provide nutritious meals, medication, health care, counseling and emergency financial assistance.
The Red Bucket Follies Fall Fundraising Campaign continues through Sunday, December 3.
The six weeks of fundraising will culminate in a variety show of songs, skits and dances at Red Bucket Follies on Monday, December 4, and Tuesday, December 5
Tickets are no longer available online for either performance. Tickets can be purchased at our will call table in front of the New Amsterdam Theatre on the day of the performance. Ticket prices range between $40-$425.
The will call table opens at 3 pm Monday and at 12:30 pm Tuesday. Tickets are not available at the New Amsterdam box office.
If you previously ordered tickets, they can be picked up at the will call table on the day of your performance. No tickets were mailed for this event.

The Musical!; Hadestown; Hamilton; Harry Potter and the Cursed Child; Kimberly Akimbo; The Lion King; Merrily We Roll Along; Moulin Rouge! The Musical; Purlie Victorious; Shucked; Six; Some Like it Hot; Sweeney Todd; Wicked and Off-Broadway’s Dracula, A Comedy of Terrors; Little Shop of Horrors; Naked Boys Singing and The Play That Goes Wrong. Among the national tours fundraising are Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of The Temptations, Aladdin, Beetlejuice, Frozen, Hamilton, Jagged Little Pill, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Six, Wicked and The Wiz.
Red Bucket Follies will feature guest appearances by Roger Bart, Corbin Bleu; Sierra Boggess, Alex Brightman, Victoria Clark, Justin Cooley, Lorna Courtney, Danny DeVito, Jonathan Groff, Danny Kornfeld,Leslie Odom Jr. , Zal Owen, Patrick Page, Kara Young and Chip Zien.
Broadway shows represented in Red Bucket Follies include Back to the Future: The Musical, Forbidden Sondheim, Hadestown, Hamilton, Harmony, Here Lies Love, Here We Are, Kimberly Akimbo, The Lion King, Some Like it Hot and Sweeney Todd, as well as Grammy Award-winning choir Broadway Inspirational Voices.
This year’s show also will include special performances by Sierra Boggess, Danny Burstein, J. Harrison Ghee, Jessica Hecht, Rachel Bay Jones, Andrea Martin, Bonnie Milligan, Christine Pedi, Jelani Remy, Marc Shaiman and Lillias White.
Red Bucket fundraising takes place twice a year during six committed and compassionate weeks of fundraising in the spring and fall. The fundraising will culminate in a one-of-a-kind variety show at the Red Bucket Follies. This year brings the triumphant return of the event, which has been on hiatus since 2019 because of COVID-19 pandemic shutdown and restrictions. This joyous homecoming marks the first full calendar year of annual Broadway Cares events since the pandemic began.
Since 1989, Red Bucket Follies and its predecessor, Gypsy of the Year, have raised $87.6 million to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
