Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS has partnered with the award-winning Signature Theatre Company to present an exclusive, VIP benefit presentation of Tony Kushner’s celebrated play Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes.

This once-in-a-lifetime package features a ticket to both parts of Angels in America: Millennium Approaches and Perestroika, to be performed on a single day – the best way to appreciate Kushner’s Tony Award- and Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece.

Tickets are $700 each for the Jan. 29, 2011, event. All proceeds benefit Broadway Cares and Signature Theatre Company.

This amazing experience includes:

• A ticket to see Part 1 and 2 of Angels in America at Signature Theatre Company; Millennium Approaches at 2 p.m. and Perestroika at 8 p.m.
• An exclusive dinner with playwright Tony Kushner at the West Bank Café between Part 1 and Part 2.
• A private post-show reception with members of this acclaimed cast, the night before their final performance together.

Angels in America‘s cast includes Robin Bartlett, Christian Borle, Bill Heck, Zoe Kazan, Billy Porter, Zachary Quinto, Robin Weigert and Frank Wood. This first New York revival is directed by Michael Greif (Next to Normal, Rent).

Bartlett, Borle, Kazan, Quinto and Weigert will play their final performance the day following the benefit.

Angels in America has enjoyed a sold-out run at the Signature Theatre Company since opening on Oct. 28. Daily News gave the show five stars and called it a “perfect revival” and New York Magazine said “in seven hours Angels can change your world.”

Angels in America is set in late 1985 and early 1986, as the first wave of the AIDS epidemic in America is escalating and Ronald Reagan has been elected to a second term in the White House. The play’s two parts bring together a myriad of disparate characters whose lives intersect, intertwine, collide and are blown apart during a time of heartbreak, reaction and transformation. Ranging from earth to heaven, from the political to the intimate to the visionary and supernatural, Angels in America is an epic exploration of love, justice, identity and theology, of the difficulty, terror and necessity of change.

Angels in America: Millennium Approaches won four Tony awards in 1993, including Best Play; Angels in America: Perestroika won three Tony awards in 1994, including Best Play.
