Broadway Barks, the starry dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and rescue groups, will return for its 27th edition this summer to help four-legged friends find fur-ever homes.

The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will again take place in Shubert Alley. Festivities begin at 3 pm and celebrity presentations of pets from citywide shelters and rescues begin after 5 pm. It will be hosted by Bernadette Peters, the legendary, Tony Award winning co-founder of Broadway Barks and star of this season’s Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends. She’ll be joined by co-host Beth Leavel, her Old Friends castmate and fellow Tony winner.

Special guests scheduled to appear are Alana Arenas, Jeannette Bayardelle, Natalie Venetia Belcon, Erich Bergen, Emily Bergl, Jeb Brown, Sophie Carmen-Jones, Florencia Cuenca, David Cumming, Stephen DeRosa, Jacob Dickey, Andrew Durand, Kevin Earley, Paige Faure, Molly Griggs, Claire-Marie Hall, Erika Henningsen, Natasha Hodgson, Mylinda Hull, Andy Karl, Julia Knitel, Gavin Lee, Kecia Lewis, Alexa Lopez, Alison Luff, Jak Malone, Lesli Margherita, Peter Neureuther, Greg Mills, Hagan Oliveras, Michele Pawk, Orville Peck, Amanda Reid, Jasmine Amy Rogers, Kyle Selig, Steven Skybell, Lili Thomas, Allie Trimm, Jessica Vosk, Michelle Williams and Daniel Yearwood.

The participating shelters are 1 Love 4 Animals, Abandoned Angels Cocker Spaniels Rescue, Adopt A Boxer Rescue, Animal Care & Control (ACC), Anjellicle Cats Rescue, Best Friends Animal Society, Bideawee, Bobbi and the Strays, Catstoria Cat Rescue, City Critters, Francis’s Friends, Hearts and Bones Rescue, Husky House, Linda’s Cat Assistance, Little Shelter, Long Island Bulldog Rescue, Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, North Shore Animal League, Pet ResQ Inc., SaveKitty Foundation, SPCA of Westchester and Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue.

Broadway Barks, founded by Mary Tyler Moore and Peters, helps many of New York City’s shelter animals find permanent homes by informing New Yorkers about the plight of the thousands of dogs and cats in the metropolitan area.

The event is free. Funds raised from a silent auction, signed memorabilia sales and donations are distributed to the participating shelters and rescue groups.
